One of NYC’s most iconic hotels gets a new life as luxury residences.
The Waldorf Astoria is an Art Deco landmark that was built in 1931 as the world’s tallest hotel, a title it held for more than 30 years. Over its history, the Waldorf became famous for hosting celebrities and world leaders, as well as galas and lavish events. The 52-story hotel closed in 2017, as it readied to undertake a renovation that will restore its landmarked public spaces and create 375 condo units, in addition to 375 hotel rooms and suites.
The Towers of the Waldorf Astoria is the residential component, which comes from developer Dajia US. The condos will range in price from $1.7M to $28M with an average asking PPSF of $3,793.

Architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill are overseeing the conversion, while designer Pierre-Yves Rochon is handling the interiors. The residences “balance modern comfort with Art Deco opulence” and range from studios to four-bedrooms.
The Towers offers over 50,000 square feet of private residential amenities, in addition to over 100,000 square feet of hotel amenities to which residents have special access. This includes a private residential porte cochère, the 25-meter starlight pool that overlooks Park Avenue, men’s and women’s wellness lounges, a fitness center, a winter garden lounge, an outdoor terrace, a gaming lounge, and more.
